Greetings, I am StormeRider from Winds of Storm,
a MUD and also a DBA web designing solution provider.
I have a colocated MUD server at ici.net, part of Winstar Broadband Services. There are
currently two muds running on it:
Winds of Storm (winds.windsofstorm.net:4004, http://winds.windsofstorm.net)
The Last Sunrise (sunrise.windsofstorm.net:9000, http://sunrise.windsofstorm.net)
The machine specifications will be as follows after this weekend pending a planned upgrade:
*P-166
*64M RAM
*Linux 2.0.34 (Slackware 3.5)
*Apache 1.3.2
*2G Seagate IDE HD
This system will be upgraded at some point to offer a backup solution by either SCSI tape backups (I have a drive, I need tapes and a controller)
or via a CDR to burn to a CD which the CDs could then either be shipped to you or held on file by myself.
The network connectivity is via a T-3 to UUNet (http://www.uu.net) with a backup link T-3 through Global Naps (http://www.gnaps.com). These systems
flawlessly work, I have seen one unplugged and the routers within seconds reroute traffic properly.
I am not looking to oversell this system. I want a few people on this, but not more than an ultimate maximum of 10. What I will provide in services are:
*Subdomain of windsofstorm.net addresses.
*TLD hosting to the machine (henceforth sunrise).
*1 account per coder to a limit of 5, with associated pop/imap email connectivity.
*Telnet access to the machine (ssh is not available at this time).
*1 website for your (sub)domain.
*Up to 3 (mudcoder, mudadmin, mudstaff) email lists, including addresses not residing on the machine. This is administered by myself, you cannot add and remove people from these lists at your discretion.
*IPs are not included. Most services are virtualized so as to not need extra IPs, but webhosting is done through HTTP/1.1 host headers. This system does not support virtual webs for HTTP/1.0 clients seamlessly.
If this interests you, please drop me an email with exactly what you are looking for on this system and what you want to do with it,
and we can work out a price and move forward if you are interested. My email is stormerider@windsofstorm.net and I hope to hear from you!
